The Fabulous Jane Austen Festival in Bath
In September, hundreds of lovers of all things Austen descend on the city of Bath, England, for the largest gathering of Jane Austen enthusiasts in the world. During the course of ten days, this annual Festival includes over eighty events such as – theatricals, musical soirees, food tasting, the Regency Costumed Masked Ball, walks, tours, talks, the Country Dance, workshops of all sorts from dancing to making Masks, reading the novels and commences on the first Saturday with the world famous record breaking Grand Regency Costumed Promenade.
Whilst many participants take the opportunity to immerse themselves in the spirit of the Festival and dress for the entire ten days in costume, apart from two events, costume is not obligatory.
Having fun, meeting and making new friends is what the Festival is all about and it is not necessary to have a partner and perfectly fine to come on your own.
