Dance workshop AM – Beginners
Sunday 18th September – 11am - (duration 1¾ hours)
Under the expert guidance of Diana Campbell, dance teacher extraordinaire, this dance class is specially designed for those who have little or no experience. Suitable for all ages; this is your chance to learn the rudimentary elements of Regency style dancing. Period costume welcome but not essential, flat shoes and a drink recommended.

Under the expert guidance of Diana Campbell, dance tutor extraordinaire, this workshop is for those who have some previous experience and an idea (no matter how small) of what to do! Period costume welcome but not essential, flat shoes and a drink recommended.

Pre-Ball Dance Workshop
Friday 23rd September – 2.45pm (duration 2 hours)
Under the expert tutelage of Diana Campbell, dancing instructor extraordinaire, this workshop is an ideal opportunity to practice the dances before the Ball in the evening and is for those who have purchased tickets for the Ball. We advise wearing low comfortable shoes and bringing a drink with you.

- Regency Costumed Masked Ball - 7pm
The Jane Austen Festival Regency Costumed Masked Ball
Friday 23rd September 7pm to 11.30pm7pm – Reception beside the Roman Baths
8pm – Ball commences in the Pump Rooms
(Please note entrance to the Pump Rooms is not possible before 8pm)
This is a costumed event and the perfect opportunity to wear your Regency ball gown complete with glittering accessories or for the men your breeches, stockings and buckled shoes, plus of course a mask in the Venetian style. (See website www.janeausten.co.uk)
Drinks reception beside the Roman Baths followed by masked procession to the Pump Rooms for the Ball. Reception drink and hot supper included in ticket.
Dancing arranged by our expert tutor Diana Campbell accompanied by the superb quartet The Regency Belles.

Saturday 24th September 2011 – 10.30am
(duration 1 1/4 hour duration with interval)
Complicated steps made to look easy by this superb company of dancers in their gorgeous 18th Century costumes. They are accompanied by the 18th Century girl band(!) Lady Georgianna. Sit back and enjoy the spectacle, soak up the music and learn all about the dances, with court duets and solo demonstrations. Interval refreshments included.
