Merchant has written several poems, including Where Does Revenge Stop? and Ode to a Toilet, for Platforms Magazine.

Ms.Merchant was in The Tudors as Catherine Howard and now in Game of Thrones with Jennifer Ehle who was also in P&P and Tamzin was Georgina Darcy in 07' P&P

It hasn't been confirmed that Tamzin is recast but the rumor is that casting slides for her role Dany have been put out. So sounds like they are looking for a new Dany now.

--I thought that was all set already and filming? how is it they can change it like that? it must be serious. I am just glad that period dramas are not dying out at least in this respect. As I like both periods Victorian and Medieval in adaptations and find the books interesting. I haven't heard of any new ones out though but I think still it is Gabaldon whom I find less Mills and Boon type. I just hope that those kind of books do not put people off or they start thinking it is more like Lord of the Rings. Not that I didn't like that series as I sat through them all a few times.

I thought everything towards casting was a done deal. The pilot was finished and HBO approved the series and gave it the green light but I guess they decided to make some actor changes after viewing the pilot.

Poor Tamzin! rough days of acting then again it is HBO who also features ex Austen actors Ciaran Hinds from Persuasion and Billie Piper from well you know. Both in steamy shows like Rome and Diary of a Call Girl or is that Showtime I can't remember. Funny enough speaking of the latter the writer of Diary was said to be the writer of abandoned Lady Susan Lucy Prebble. I know the show and know some who have seen it very risque since I think both of one of the same channels. I am still hoping someone will pick it up and try again as Lady Susan has been made into a play many times over.
I previously now in the archives made my personal picks of whom should be cast for it and when I heard Lucy was adapting the script I got on to her boss to give some encouragement.
No replies and now it being dropped I went to the Film Council and protested online at BBC at their lack of bonnet dramas. Lark Rise on Candleford is doing well still so why have they dropped Austen? It is not overdone until they have adapted all of the novels and short stories. Perhaps I am taking a wrong path in my protest. I have had some thoughts of approaching other film companies in the UK responsible for other period dramas. Something on my backburner and if I am successful Tamzin may get a call.

What are your thoughts?
