I found this information interesting as I heard about Upstairs Downstairs being redone. I remember this show was very bland then but there were things I liked about it. Her name doesn't come to mind for Emma or P&P. Interesting the difference in characters she played in both characters. One an old maid and the other a very boisterous mother of five girls.
I think they are around the same age perhaps a few years difference, and from different backgrounds.

Though Lind is no longer with us it is sad there is no proper write up of her career which is extensive by any means. I will endeavour to look her up in those rolls and remind myself what kind of actress she was.
I think it is interesting when Austen actors try another role in the same author and genre as she has as others have like Jonny Lee Miller recently. As well as Sophie Thompson who did brilliantly as Miss Bates and Mary Musgrove and the similarities couldn't be anymore different. With Mary Musgrove not being an old maid and a middle aged woman with many children unable to cope with the demands of motherhood and her dwelling on of illnesses.

I wonder if there will be any more opportunities for this kind of twist in characters as yet to date Sanditon and The Watsons as well as Lady Susan have gone up and down in development.

For myself I truly hope BBC or ITV will not give up on period dramas
