Things are really hectic here at the moment. July and August are usually our busiest months and this year is no exception.
The 3 new ITV films which were broadcast in Spring in the UK and are
soon to be shown in the US have had a hugely positive effect on visitor
numbers. We don’t like it when it is quiet, but when it gets this
busy! Phew.
It’s great that so many more people are becoming fans of our favourite author.
Hope you enjoy the newsletter.
Finally, you must read the next part of our serial There
must be Murder. Chapter 8

As
we told you in the last newsletter, Festival Director David Lassman
sent the first chapters of Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion and
Northanger Abbey to a number of publishers and publishers’ agents
looking for a book deal. The press picked this up and he
eventually appeared on ABC news. Follow the link to have a look.

Text:
We have a lovely new, exclusive item in our on-line gift shop; a Swiss
made ball point pen. The pen bears an image of Jane Austen, plus it has
'Jane Austen (1775 - 1817)' printed down the side. It comes in an
attractive black and white box, bearing the same image; a detail from
the engraving commissioned by J.E Austen-Leigh for the frontispiece of
his 'Memoir of Jane Austen', in 1870. This pen could be yours FREE if
you spend £30.00 or more in our online giftshop before Monday
10th September 2007.
