The Austens and Walcot – walking tour
Tuesday 20th September – 10am (duration 2 hours)
Walcot is the delightfully atmospheric Bohemian quarter of Bath and it held a special place in the Austen’s affections.
It was in St Swithin’s that Jane’s father began his career and also where her parents were married. We walk in her footsteps to the church and the nearby Paragon and back to the centre. Inside the beautifully preserved church are many memorials to notable Bathonians and outside we can see one to Jane’s father, the Rev George Austen. Bath Parade Guides.
Tickets: £8
Meet outside the Tourist Information Centre, Abbey Churchyard, BA1 1LY
